IN MEMORIAM

We are sad to announce that Leslie Sparks died on Sunday, March 2nd.  She was a dynamic teacher at Port Orange Elementary School.  
Several of us had the opportunity to enjoy her amazing and creative math lessons in her classroom.  It was obvious that her students adored her.  She will be sorely missed...
A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, March 26 at 3:30 PM at Epiphany Catholic Church in Port Orange.

Painter's Tape Pictures by Leslie Sparks' 3rd Grade Gifted Class

" The students are using their knowledge of area to design different area shapes using the painters tape. They proved that, Area = L X W.
We are looking forward to using the painters tape to demonstrate their knowledge of lines, line segments, rays, and perpendicular/parallel lines also.
Second grade will be using the painters tape to show the length of the intestines when we study the human body.
